Organization Wish List

As a nonprofit organization, MCNAA is always in need of equipment and supplies to operate our programs. We are also always on the lookout for a building that will serve as a permanent home for our operations. If you are in a position to donate from the list below, please e-mail us at mcnaa@aol.com or call 617-642-1683.  Also, if you know of anyone who might be in a position to help, please pass along this information.

Make an in-kind donation:

The Mass. Center for Native American Awareness is recognized as a nonprofit, tax exempt organization, under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Certain tax benefits may apply.

A Building

For over three decades, we have wished for a building to serve as a permanent, central place for MCNAA operations.  Space would be used for any or all -- Administrative Offices, Career Counseling/Student Learning Center, Spiritual Guidance & Talking Circle Room, Resource & Information Room, Slow Turtle “Lives On” Room, Arts & Crafts Gift Shop, Craft-making Stations, Function/Lecture Hall, and more. We wish that one of our readers, members, or supporters who owns such a building and is in a healthy financial position, will gift the real estate for this purpose (or sell/pay it forward to MCNAA at a reasonable price.) Any location within the I-495 belt is acceptable but we will entertain all offers of good will.

Land

We will accept the return of any piece of land located within the I-495 belt.  Depending on whether it is a wooded lot or open space, our dreams are to hold gatherings, retreats, and circles; to teach our youth how to build traditional dwellings, smoke houses, and instruments; how to play traditional games, learn craft-making and survival skills; to create gardens for three sisters, herbs and medicinal plants. There is so much more we can do with open outdoor space. This is a great reason to donate your land and put it back into the hands of Native Peoples or a Native organization....the best stewards of the land.

Motor Home

In efforts to stay on the grounds at our pow-wows, youth gatherings, and weekend workshops, we continue our search and request for a donated motor home. Being on the grounds will help with evening security and early morning set up, greeting, etc.  We are looking for a motor home no larger than 28'.  If you have such a vehicle and would consider donating it us, or know of someone who does, please contact us at mcnaa@aol.com

Cargo Van

Up until 2009, we were driving a 1985 large Chevy cube van to transport equipment to and from MCNAA's Cultural Arts events, as well as to our Public Awareness programs.  We were able to patch it up and keep it running for 16 years but then became concerned about its road worthiness and took it off the road.  We are now in need of a new and safer cargo van to transport our equipment to and from our pow-wows, socials,  workshops, etc.  If you have a good, mildly used van that you'd like to donate or sell cheaply, please contact us.  In the meantime, we have to rent a U-haul for this purpose.

Office Equipment and Supplies

As with any small not-for-profit organization, MCNAA has an on-going need for office equipment such as laptops and printers.  With this fast evolving technology, we would prefer new equipment but will accept any items that are updated or mildly used.

We can also use non-reusable items such as printer ink cartridges and reams of copier paper.

Other Items

New and mildly used, dust-free, items are always needed for our Annual Auction in October as well as for the small silent auctions we hold at our other events. We actively solicit items year round for the cause.

We accept Native and non-Native items including: gift items, jewelry, artwork, pottery, baskets, time-share weeks, movie tickets, sporting event tickets, sports memorabilia, restaurant/gasoline/store gift cards, new electronics, and automobiles.
